i've given a month to get it right... they failed... i refer to the apartment community in which i live... they have messed up enough so that i will be writing bad reviews about them for a long time... the biggest mess up is not apologizing until weeks of intrusive and dangerous construction lead me to move out of the bedroom... they hired a contractor to replace the siding to beautiful the community and ultimately, charge more for rent... the contractors busted holes through bedroom walls partly because they are quite dangerously incompetent and partly because the buildings are old and the walls easily crumble... and are sealed poorly and filled with mold... heavy pest control keeps the outdoor life from moving indoors, but that's pretty typical of florida... we accepted the older construction and flaws because we are paying lower rent than the market rate... though we are paying the same as a mortgage if we bought a house, but that's another story...
anyway, greystar is the company that manages the property and the community manager is a reasonably polite and decent person... she is probably quite polite and kind, even, but my perspective is quite tainted at the moment... for one thing, a half dozen occasions i got home and found construction was done in the bedroom and it was left a mess with sharp rusty nails in the carpet... three times, at least, the lights were unplugged and once the power was turned off... that night there was a three inch rusty nail sticking up from a baseboard they removed... the baseboard was left laying across the bedroom floor with the nail sticking up right next to the lamp... i (and they) are very lucky i did not find the nail with my foot as i stumbled in the dark trying to find the circuit breaker and plug to plug the lamp back in... that's just the tip of the mess...
the wholes in the walls were through to the outside so the insulation and carpet (and drywall) were damaged and after a month of that damage, there is mold growing in the walls and who knows what else... they did not seal the outside wall properly and did not notice for weeks even as i complained and told them i moved out of the bedroom because it is unsafe and unhealthy... they ignored the dangers and i could sue, but i have no interest in spending my time in courts... it is still the best suited apartment for us based on the layout, size, price, location, and the various other intangibles that go into such a decision... still, it sucks very much... greystar sucks very much...
i've lived in communities run by three of the top ten management companies... i have experienced much more incompetent and ruder managers and staff and much poorer service... but never have i felt unsafe and unhealthy like i do now... for a month i have slept on the couch, aching and missing rem sleep and feeling like crap most every morning... i forget while i am out each day and then wish i did not go back home at night... it does not feel like home anymore... that is the kind of community life greystar provided... and no respect or tangible compensation... that is the insult to the injury...
greystar sucks... they may be the biggest... they also suck...

extra crap
hey, this could be a complaint too, ya know?... i mean, complaints are not always serious and depressing, they can be laughed at too, even when they are serious and depressing, i mean, cake our superficial pretentious culture, please (thank you rodney playing in the danger fields in the sky with don, who rhymes with tickles, no relation except by association, yeah, yeah, yeah)... and yes, of course i mean take, not cake, but read on and see if any of this extra crap just tossed in way after the fact (or fiction) for no apparent reason other than to pretend it was here all along like the complainer was busy complaining and not asleep at the wheel of the bus wrapped around the tree that can't be seen for the forest blinds us to the life within makes any sense...
yes, there are many shows that are representative of the shameless extravagance of the current american culture (human nature?), but extra may take the cake (and eat it too)... wait, another cake analogy may be just around the corner... yes, marie antoinette, the epitome of "let them eat cake" is the obscene pleasure extra portrays with shiney white teeth, perfect make up, and buffed bodies in pretentious drama and gleeful bliss (ignorance) as that ridiculous enigma of fame and fortune summed up in the ultimate single word oxymoron (yes, it takes the mind of god to understand it all), celebrity, all dressed up and nowhere to go...
the height of eye candy and over-stating the obvious, the only thing missing is the hype that extra is must see tv, but wait, trademarks, copyrights, and all that jazz keeps us all tied up in court paying lawyers to continue giving us reasons to believe our lives are ever so important, i mean, we must be important, just look at all the money they are spending...
cynical much?... ah, it's beyond all that and commercials too, it's unreal passing as the reality that everybody is told they want so often that they believe it and must have it and long for it and sell their soul, if they could (or had something like it), just for a taste of the cake (what, you thought the cake was all gone?)...
hey, eye candy (and eye cake) is fun, but waiting a half hour for craig ferguson to come on and get real (wink wink) can get annoying, ya know?... lol lam lal laa...
narf :)

paranoid advertising
i am not even sure how this paranoid android advertising (no offense to REM) opened in my browser, but there it was in it's own tab after i went to a few websites like hollywood reporter and media life magazine and common sense media (the latter reeks of small minded paranoid in it's own way, so maybe, but i am not interested in connecting the dots at the moment... kaspersky denied their security certificate)... these are likely the same people who condemned FEMA for slow reactions to hurricane katrina... think about it, the mission of FEMA is to get as much emergency supplies to a disaster area as possible in the shortest amount of time possible... that is what we expect them to do... we scream government mismanagement and corruption if they don't... so when GEMA asks emergency food kit manufacturers how much they stock and how fast they can deliver, that makes sense to anyone who can add two plus two without paranoid delusions getting in the way... of course if the emergency food kit manufacturer wants to create panic so people will rush to buy their product, that paranoid delusional thinking would make sense...
it sucks, really, that we live in this fear-driven, greed-driven world... i hope the next dominant species is more enlightened and less destructive...
so meaningless...

q-bids
so what do i know about q-bids?... i know enough not to want to go back and not to link it here because i recommend you don't go there... maybe my experience was not the norm, but i won one of my first bids for less than a dollar as the tv commercial says, but i never received it... and then i won something else the second time i went there and never received that either... and i went back to use up the bids i bought and never came close to winning anything that time, but came close just as i was running out of bids when the site started the hard sell to buy more bids...
felt like a set up, especially when no "winnings" arrived...
i will not be back...

people of the small minds
people can be so disappointing... people who hide their fears and prejudices and judgments until they suddenly pounce as if you knew all along they had very narrow views of life and all that goes into life... take sex, for instance... so many live without it, misunderstand it, use and abuse it, and judge others harshly based on their immaturity and fears of their own bodies... sometimes i wonder why i let people come near me at all... politics and religion is not much different... thoughts, opinions, beliefs, they are so illusionary, transitory, meaningless in the big picture... but who truly sees the big picture... the religious claim they cannot understand the mind of god to avoid even trying to see beyond their fears... rational discussion is blasphemous... the political spectrum is divided by cliffs and crevices so convoluted and falsified there is almost as little rational conversation allowed there either... economics?... people use money (and resources) as a weapon and irrational greed and power rule out any real honesty, compassion, or consideration for much beyond the immediate portfolios...
of course i stay alone inside... the people of small minds block my view of the big picture...
